Productivity

My roommate Brandon and I decided just yesterday that one of the main factors of our lack of productivity is that we sleep in the same place we work. I would lay in my bed and work on homework, type papers, and read on the internet, and this was not working one bit.
Sometimes I would sit in my desk chair and prop my feet up on my bed to make myself do some work. It wouldn't take long before my feet were asleep and my butt was numb, so I knew something had to change. I read somewhere you need to remove everything from your workspace that annoys you, so I just removed the entire workspace.
Now we both have our computer setups in the living room (or former living room) and it's working great. When you walk in our house now you are immersed in a sea of flashing LED lights and noisy computer fans. It's working great now, and I would recommend something like it to anyone who asks.
It still has annoyances, though, but no where near as bad as having a numb bum. Everytime the air conditioner turns off, water drains into a bucket that is just behind a closet door right beside me and makes me feel like I'm standing next to a urinal. It weirds me out everytime.
