I saw this on the internet today and almost lost it. Not sure if other people will have the same humor, but I think this one is good to send to the friends.

Worst Commercial Ever (video)

Some say it's the worst, but it could be one of the best.

Update: Also check out the acappella video.

I was going to have a big comeback post since I haven't posted on here in a while, but I decided against it. Time is short, so I'm going to just give a quick run through of some stuff.

If you remember our little critter living in our fireplace, well, he got out. He chewed through our styrofoam and found his way into the interior of the house. Luckily he went back to the safety of the fireplace or we would have been in trouble. I can hear it moving around right this very minute. It's past its bedtime, that's for sure.

One cool and unrelated thing is I got a new job. I'll be working full time now with computers and the such, trying to improve business processes with technology. It should be a lot of fun, but I'm a little nervous at the same time. Luckily the web has moved to version 2.1, so life should be easier.

Also unrelated, here's Ronald Jenkeees. His video blog is quite informative.

I'm going to bed now.

Yeah, I've graduated already from college, but that doesn't mean I can't take part in Spring Break 2006. Some peeps and I are going to hang out in a cabin on the other side of the Smokies and have some rest and relaxation time, maybe even cook some s'mores. I'm hoping it's not cold so we can frolic in the mountainous regions and enjoy the outdoors rather than us sitting in the cabin the whole vacation while Mother Nature has all the fun.

I've started a new thing now as well, on top of the new old-fashioned journal, I'm now going to try and read a book at least every two weeks. I've never gotten into reading because of where it was on my priority list, so for once in my life I'm going to try and actually stimulate the mind. My brother randomly picked my first book for me at Books-a-Million and it's turned out to be really good so far. It's called Tuesdays with Morrie and I'll let you follow the link to read about it.

To add more to the list of unrelated topics in one post (a no no by Jakob Nielson, #8 on his list), I leave you with this final video of donkey basketball. It is me my senior year in high school playing basketball on donkeys (obviously), and it was lots of fun. Please don't watch the whole thing, as it is 35 minutes of donkeys, but drag the marker to about 17 minutes, 30 seconds to see the greatest shot ever attempted and made on a donkey.

This is an awesome story about a kid with autism getting into a basketball game and making it count. You can watch the video and read the story to get the entire scoop. Apparently it's been all over ESPN, other news stations, and even Digg.

To put it into perspective, if he would have kept up the pace of scoring 20 points every 4 minutes of the game, he would have dropped 160 points that night.

Throught my life, the one thing that has been a constant is my love for basketball (and maybe my high hairline). It is about the only thing I could do everyday for weeks at a time and never get tired of it. I found this dunk contest video on Digg and seriously couldn't believe some of these dunks. Takes me back to the good old days when I could dunk.

Also just saw Google is serving up some web pages for people with their Pages deal. Looks nice I guess, if you're into that WYSIWYG kind of stuff. It keeps telling me I look like a spammer, though, which hurts.

There comes in a time in the development process when you just have to throw your hands up and launch the stinking project, so that's what I did. What you are staring at is Version 2 (sorta) of Smizell.com with a brand new underbelly and a monotonous, single-column layout for all the minimalist folks (which will hopefully change one day very soon). Ruby on Rails powers this ship and MySQL stores all of the content. Let the games begin.

Ok, here are some funny things some friends have done. These will be in bulleted-list format just in case you were wondering.

  • Rotten Eggs + Golf Club = Egg Golf. I'll be sure to put it on a page here for historical reasons.
  • My roommate came up with the idea to sell a song by yours truly on Ebay. It was his idea, and I said I would honor it if someone made the purchase. I can't even begin to guess what is going to come from this.

Also, I added a link to my new del.icio.us RSS feed. I started from scratch for reasons unknown, but I plan on using it soon (like, tomorrow).

It seems as though our Feliz Navidad video has gone over better than we expected. What started out as a quick little improv video to send to a few people quickly turned into a video that was sent all over campus. To put things into perspective, I had one girl come up to me asking if I was the "guy in the video." Let me tell you, it was nice to have people flocking to me for reasons other than my good looks for a change.

I really wish I had a count of the number of people that have seen that video, but I don't. I would guess between 500 and 1,000 people have seen it... until now. I sent a link to our video and a simple "Merry Christmas" to Robert Scoble a couple of days ago. I had forgotten about the email until tonight when I got a response back from Scoble telling me he had linked to our video. If you've never heard of Robert Scoble, he has a very popular website on the world wide web where he talks about all kinds of geeky topics. To say the least, he's kind of a big deal, so a link from him is like winning a car on The Price is Right.

It's official— I'll be graduating this weekend with a BS degree in Telecommunications Systems Management. If you aren't for sure what that is, it's a degree that focuses primarily on IT and the business aspect of that field. Rest assured it is not a degree to become a telemarketer, so I won't be calling you while you eat dinner. I haven't decided yet if I'll be going to grad school or taking my degree and running far away from school. It really is a blessing to have options, but it makes it very hard to decide. It would make my decision a lot easier if my good friends at Google offered me a nice job.

On a funny and somewhat strange note, some friends and I put together a Feliz Navidad video on Google Video. Watch the two guys in the background as they do the elephant and the running man, both classic dance moves.

(NOTE: The video has been working off and on all night, so if it doesn't show up, try again later)
