About six months ago, I purchased an Audiovox SMT 5600 through Cingular. It is small, has tons of great features, and is quite the conversational piece when people start showing off their new phones. Plus, above everything else, it has Solitaire. Don't let its innocence fool you, though...

Well, about two weeks ago on my way home from Las Vegas, the darn thing went crazy on me. I looked down at it to check the time and none of the buttons worked, not even the power button. The scroll button had some how confused itself with the number pad, because pressing "left" put the number four on the screen. Like any caring parent would do, I panicked. I fumbled with the phone for about 10 minutes and decided just to leave it alone. About an hour later it was fine.

I really thought I was out of the woods, but last Friday at work, something terrible happened. The phone rang once, I tried to answer, and the thing just went blank. I haven't been able to turn it back on since that day, that dark and dreary day. Luckily, it's under warranty and they're going to send me a new one. Of course they read you off the warranty info and it has things in it like, "You will never get the old phone back," "You have to pay $210 if there are damages," or "If you don't send the phone back, you have to pay $250 for a processing fee." They really know how to sweet talk their customers.
